TEAM RULES / GUIDELINES

  • Be on time - be prepared to begin on time (dressed, shoes on, etc)

  • Give you BEST effort each and every time you play or train

  • Player should contact a coach when they will be late or absent

  • Be committed to your team, put them before yourself

  • Misconduct in games will result in suspension from the game by the coaching staff and possibly future games

  • Cell phone will be collected on away trips until bus arrives back at school
  • Refrain from using profanity – this relates to self control and discipline

  • There is no guarantee of playing time in games – speak with a coach if you need to know what you need to work on

  • Manage your time effectively; you have to maintain the balance between sports and school.  If you don’t perform in the classroom (pass your classes, be in class on-time, etc) you may be temporarily suspended from the team

  • Playing on the Varsity soccer team this season does not guarantee, imply or indicate that a player will make the Varsity soccer team next season.
  • Any activities or behaviors that result in a suspension from school for any amount of time will result in the player being expelled from the team for the remainder of the soccer season

LETTER REQUIREMENTS

1. Play in 10 games

2. No more than 3 unexcused absences

Automatically unexcused if a coach is not contacted prior to the training or game

If a player is late to training or practice twice it will count as an unexcused absence

3. No more than 1 ejection from games for misconduct

 

PARENT PLEDGE

As a parent, I acknowledge that I am a role model.  I will remember that school athletics is an extension of the classroom, offering learning experiences for the students.  I must show respect for all players, coaches, referees, spectators and support groups.  I will participate in cheers that support, encourage, and uplift the teams involved.  I understand the spirit of fair play and good sportsmanship expected by our school, conference and the NCHSAA.  I hereby accept my responsibility to be a model of good sportsmanship for the student athletes.

ATHLETE PLEDGE

As a student athlete, I know I am a role model.  I understand the spirit of fair play while playing hard.  I will refrain from engaging in all types of disrespectful behavior such as inappropriate language, taunting, trash talking and unnecessary physical contact.  I understand the spirit of fair play and good sportsmanship expected by my school, conference and the NCHSAA.  I hereby accept the responsibility and privilege of representing my school as a student athlete.

COACH PLEDGE

As a coach, I acknowledge that I am a role model.  I know that the principles of good sportsmanship are integrity, fairness and respect.  While teaching the skills of the game I must also teach student athletes how to win and lose graciously.  Sports are meant to be fun and educational.  I understand the behaviors expected of me by my school, conference and the NCHSAA.  I hereby accept my responsibility to be a model of ethical behavior, integrity and good citizenship around these student athletes.
